Two weeks ago today, the lens was replaced in one of my eyes. Can you tell which one?

Downtown Sioux Falls
One of my favorite places to visit is my home town of Sioux Falls, SD. I moved away 20 years ago, but it still feels like home when I get back there.
Here are some photos from my most recent visit:

Arrested!
Occasionally, I find myself in the right place at the right time to take dramatic real-life pictures. One such occurrence happened a few weeks ago, in which an angry man was shouting out threats at anyone within earshot. I personally heard him say "I'll kill every one of you!"
While some people with much cooler heads than I can muster tried to calm this guy down, I worked the scene with my camera. The following pictures do a pretty good job of presenting the situation as it unfolded:

Party for Anna and Friends
When Anna graduated, an official party was not part of the original plan. But plans change, and yesterday her dad hosted a party for her and two of her friends. As one would expect, I didn't just go for the food, I also went for the photo opportunities:

Siouxland Renaissance Festival - 2018
Caught the last 3 hours of the festival, which was still plenty of time to capture some very interesting imagery:

Cogs and Corsets
I had my first steampunk experience this past weekend at an event called Cogs and Corsets in downtown Bloomington, IL, and I discovered that I really dig this thing called steampunk.
The participants are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, and their clothing is beyond cool. Here is a small sampling of the sights I took in while strolling around the event:

Mike Graduated from High School
Our good friend Mike graduated from NCWHS today, so we joined him and his family for wings and beer:
Good luck Mike! The nursing profession needs a guy like you.

2018 Graduation at U-High
Another family member has crossed the stage to get her high school diploma. This time it was Anna:
And just like last year, some of the graduates were very entertaining:
And finally, some family shots with our new graduate:
Congratulations Anna! You have a very bright future ahead of you.

A Cold Morning at the Falls of the Big Sioux River
A mid-April blizzard brought wind, snow and misery to the State of South Dakota, but left behind tranquil, frigid beauty that only Mother Nature can produce. Behold, the falls of the Big Sioux River:
I hope the falls are at least half as beautiful when I encounter them again later this year.
